Our 11th and 12th grade students’ children’s book projects recently came full circle as they visited Loring Elementary School to read their finished stories with younger students. 📚✨

What began as an idea in the classroom became published stories shared with elementary readers in our community. Through this project, students experienced the full writer’s process: brainstorming, drafting, revising, illustrating, editing, and presenting their final books. Along the way, they strengthened literacy skills, learned to think critically, problem solve, collaborate, and launch their creativity in meaningful ways.

There is something incredibly powerful about books and storytelling. Literacy opens doors, builds empathy, sparks imagination, and gives students the opportunity to use their voices to make an impact on others.

We are so proud of our students for creating stories that inspired younger readers and for showing what authentic, project-based learning can look like. 💛

The trip was more than just fun, it was an opportunity for students to strengthen relationships, celebrate their journey together, and reflect on how far they’ve come before stepping into one of the most important moments of their senior year: presenting their yearlong Community Asset Projects.

At Exploration High School, our seniors graduate with far more than a diploma. Through project-based learning, community partnerships, and authentic real-world experiences, students build professional, technical, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills that prepare them to thrive in college, careers, and life beyond high school.

We are incredibly proud of this graduating class and cannot wait to see them showcase the meaningful impact of their Capstone work in the coming weeks. 💙

At Exploration High School, we believe education should open doors. Through college visits, career exploration, internships, and high-quality project-based learning experiences, our students are encouraged to explore meaningful pathways for their futures.

During the visit, students learned about the academic, financial, and personal support offered through Dougherty Family College and explored what the transition from high school to college can look like.

Experiences like these help students see new possibilities, build confidence, and begin envisioning their future beyond graduation. 💙

What an incredible couple of days at @campfire_minnesota 🌲🔥

Our Exploration High School students returned today from another unforgettable overnight experience filled with adventure, connection, laughter, and community. Students spent time hiking through nature, fishing, practicing archery, and making fun memories around camp.

One of the things we value most at Exploration High School is creating meaningful real-world and relationship-based experiences for our students, and this annual overnight trip continues to be one of the highlights of the year. From sleeping in tents and cabins to sharing meals together in Camp Fire Minnesota’s beautiful Community & Dining Center, students had the opportunity to unplug, challenge themselves, build friendships, and simply enjoy being outdoors together.

A huge THANK YOU to Camp Fire Minnesota for being such an outstanding partner to Exploration High School over the years. Your team continually creates spaces where our students feel welcomed, supported and inspired. We are so grateful for this partnership and cannot wait to continue working together in the future!
